Is “line of action” kind of a misnomer? One of my students pointed out yesterday that it’s a bit of a confusing term, and I had a hard time getting it at first myself. Even though the line is used to create an action pose, the term “line of action” seems to mean something like an arrow. It’s a lot more useful for me to think of it as a “pose line” that you construct the character around. Got any other better terms?
