1. Ian Frazier’s short piece Coyote V. Acme made me laugh out loud at 6:30am on the subway commute this morning. (A great time to read funny stuff - there really isn’t much other laughter happening then.) It’s a deadpan retelling of a Roadrunner cartoon, presented in legal form as a lawsuit filed against the Acme corporation. The story’s part of Judd Apatow’s I Found This Funny anthology, which I’m enjoying, and clearly finding funny too. Jonathan Franzen also has a really nice essay in there about his devotion to the classic Peanuts comics, and thoughts on some of Scott McCloud’s ideas.

    Interestingly enough, Franzen chose the Coyote story to read on a New Yorker podcast.  Just to tie it all together, you know.
